Hi Spirit,

Thank you for your well wishes. Now let me try to answer some of your questions.

I've been a member here since April of this year, mostly on The Master Cleanse board. I did 15 days of Master-Cleanse before starting a weight loss plan. In 13 weeks I dropped 42 pounds. My MD is convinced my sudden weight loss contributed to my GB problem. I had NO symptoms before my first attack a few weeks ago. I was aware of liver flushes, and could have tried it -- even thought about it. But my fear was that my GB was so inflammed and I had so many stones that I did not want to risk passing stones into the bile duct and causing further damage. I know, I know, there are many here that say that's impossible. From what I read and talked to my doctor about - I didn't want to risk it. This was a personal decision for me, and I chose not to wait. My surgeon talked to me about meds and other avenues -- but we both agreed that because of my severe symptoms it wasn't an avenue we wanted to take. My brother is a homeopath and said I could take this enzyme and the other, but that it would take time for it all to kick in. In the meantime, I didn't want to live on Vicodin and fear. So yes - I did look into other options.

My general health is overall pretty good. My blood work was "perfect" the doc said. But I do have SVT (Tachycardia) and it is set off when my pain levels go up. GB pain was not a long term option for me. As I said earlier, I've lost 42 pounds and am 25 pounds away from my goal weight of 150.

At this point, I feel confident in my decision to go with the surgery. I'm feeling much better, and have researched diet changes that I need to make. I have been on a very low fat diet before which seems to have attributed to my GB problems (vs. high fat that many people suffer from). So I'm going to be working with a nutritionist to find the best fit for me so I can lose the last 25 pounds.

Melanie
