You are righ John. But since it doesn't really affect the water, I did not want to just dismiss it outright, I was planning to address it later on. After the part of the Calcium had been properly "chewed and digested".

I should add the the 5000 kilojoules / mole is equivalent to
needing 1100 Calories (food Calories = 1000 calories) for 1 mole of calcium or 40 grams.

So you can see that the energy costs are quite high.
