"ALL" that one gains with smaller size elements of acids or Minerals , is for a Greater Surface area with which to react against the opposite charge so as to be able to create more Electrical Energy faster!
And the difference between total of surfaces of small particles and the surface of big particles (for the same volume as the sum of the small ones) gets bigger and bigger the smaller the small particles are.
So no doubt why the ionic minerals work: MUUUUUUUUUUCH MORE SURFACE!!!
Ionic minerals rely much in surface while lime water relays more in its potent chemical (and electrical!?) reactivity. (These are just my thoughts, don’t take it too serious)
I read that this question of the surface is so important that it is actually the reason why bacteria remains small: at a point the surface is not big enough to support their volume. Remaining small they survive because the proportion surface/volume is compatible with life.
