Yes, I think supplementing enzymes can be very effective in some stage of the recovery and for some specific issues.

Some years ago I got rid of hookworms very quickly following a recipe from a Naturopath:

During 2 days in an empty stomach:

5 times 1000 mg. papain. Each time letting one hour in between.

The capsules were 200 mg. each. So I took 25 capsules per day.

It may work for another kinds of worms too.
