I had the same problem. I switched from ascorbic acid to sodium ascorbate, and now I tend to be alkaline throughout the day. First thing in the am, I am just slightly acidic or neutral.

Of course, I have my own question. Since our body will try to stay ph neutral, and we know that it will leach calcium form bones & teeth to resolve acidity, what will it do if the body is excessively alkaline?
