Most herbs and supplements should be cycled through, with "break periods."

As long as you are taking great care to increase the power of your digestion, cleansing your colon frequently, then your liver management can be very simple.

The musts in your diet for the rest of your life is a good EFA oil like flax, and lecithin. You should use the oil in place of butter and if you aren't eating a lot of it, carry around pills too and take those.

B vitamin complex should be taken about 3x a week to make sure the lecithin and EFAs are getting abosobed properly, and to help the liver to cleanse itself.

The liver supporting herbs can be done for about 2 months, then take a 2-4 week break, then resume. Repeat only if necessary. I went through probably 5 bottles of Planetary Formula's bupleurum liver cleanse.

Carrot/apple/beet/parsley juice plus carrot cleansing salad should be done for at least 7 days in a row. Then drinking this drink periodically, occasionally for a week at a time, is a great great help for maintaining healthy bile and liver and gallbladder.

Maintenence on the liver, once your imbalances are resolved, should be done twice yearly.

Hope that answered your question! :)
