As an (ex) bodybuilder myself and a sufferer of candida,
I have some interesting experiences re: bodybuilding and candida. I tried to "lift" my way out of this illness. For the first year of my candida I was making record progress in the gym. But ultimately something must give, and I haven't been able to touch a weight since.

Incidentally pumping iron helped my symptoms immensely - it almost felt like a cure. I put that down to the immune stimulation I got esp. from the "big" exercises - squat and deadlift which will give you a massive hormonal surge. This can make it feel as though you are ontop of your illness wheras the reality can be very different. Its difficult to say whether the hormonal surge is curative or just masking the symptoms.

If you must lift, then do it to keep fit and active. Don't stress your body. I know these aren't the words you want to hear, but believe me, there are far worse words which you may hear later-on down the line.

At this point in your life the aim should be to rid your body of candida.

Lifting weights is a luxury. Being candida-free is a necessity.
