There are many new free energy technologies coming out. This is generally known as 'zero point' energy. The only problem is the corrupt government insiders stopping it or at least continuing doing what they've been doing over the years. Many zero point developers have been threatened and some even disappeared and some even been killed. You have a huge greedy faction of a world government that will not let anything get into their way.
