Oh, wow, thank you for your kind question.

It's a pretty long story, but I started macrobiotics in 1982, and it cured a lifetime of asthma in one day. One! Also I lost weight and slimmed down, and my Acne rosacea really calmed down about 90%, and intestinal healing happened too. Those changes are permanent, still in force now.

After a while I got an unpaid job full time working at a healing center and lived there and ate all my meals there. So, I was really 24/7 for about 3 years, totally devoted, out to change the world!

Now, I have to confess that I left the movement because some of the power management seemed a bit strange to me. BUT I have to say that the diet did me LOTS of good. I would still be on it, but at that point I had to drop everything and deal with the emotions that came up, and that took years. (Macrobiotics was great at stirring up emotions, but the social community there and then didn't work with support around those feelings. It was like, if you're sad, it means you must have eaten an extra banana in your childhood.)

These days I am searching hard about what diet to follow now, trying more raw stuff, checking in on cure zone a lot.

So believe me I am no big guru, but I owe big thanks to my first counselor. Also some books were very nice, like Kristina Turner's cookbook. For me, it did me the most good to read authors whose communication style arises from my own American culture. That doesn't mean American people are smarter or wiser or better! Only that the traditional books were too strict for me and I got too serious and rigid with them.

Anyway, I still respect macrobiotics enormously! And people like you who follow it!
With lots of gratitude for the permanent changes that it gave to my health.
