I think this forum is where I belong - love what I am reading! I look forward to talking with people in the same "boat", who want an alternative to 12 step/21 day treatment programs - DEFINATELY NOT FOR ME!! (Although I am happy for and support those who have "hit bottom", and find it a life-saver!) I still have a lot of self control in regards to my alcohol use, (limit supply, time of use, never drink & drive, never if I have evening responsibilities, etc), but know I am addicted. I have tried joining a group sponsored by an addiction service in my community, but have been really turned-off by the lack of honesty, and self-serving kind of discussion. I also have serious reservations about confidentiality, as I am a highly visible professional in my community, and don't need the stigma!

I do not feel that the whole idea of being "powerless" is very helpful to me. I want to feel "empowered" and supported! I have ordered Kudzu from my local HF store, and look forward to trying it!

I posted a message on the liver/gallbladder flush forum about a week ago (page 105 of live forum), where I described a bit of my history. Although I am going to continue flushing to try and heal my poor liver, I know the area I really need to work on is the alcohol use! Just thought I'd offer a little background to introduce myself to this forum.
