Hello everyone. Some of you may remember having conversations with me
over the last year and a half. My girlfriend Lisa was diagnosed with

A rare form of Ewing's Sarcoma and chose to follow her doctor's
advice using the usual methods of chemo etc. She passed away at the
age of 26 in the hospital on Friday more from congestive heart
failure than anything else.

The doctors admitted the chemo agents
damaged her heart. Just a week before they sent her home to "recover"
from what they we calling pneumonia. I didn't think she should be
released, sicne they just finished draining gallons of fluid from
her, never gave her any intravenous nutrition even though she wasn't
eating, didn't want to give her an enema when she was constipated for
several days. Before they released her, they gave her a one more dose
of a different chemo that has no track record for her cancer. After
having her home for only a couple of days and watching her retain
fluids and have no strength to lift her own body at all, it became
obvious that she has heart failure, not pneumonia. We took her back
to the hospital where they informed us that her heart was working on
15% and 90% of her liver was replaced by tumor!

She died a few days later. Lisa never complained, worked 50 hour
weeks at her store well into December, many people never even knew
she had cancer. In December, she was still singing Italian operas at
her recitals! I did everything I could to explain the effects and
damage and danger of chemo but she trusted her doctors and was
concerned about insurance not covering the options I wanted to
explore.

At the end she died a horrifying death but she was surrounded by her
friends and family the entire time. While we were trying to tell her
it was OK to go, she later explained that she appreciated what we
were trying to do, but that she didn't want to die, that it was all
bullshit and unfair, and that she won't leave willfully.

I just wanted to thak all of you who offed advice to me. It help
greatly and was a source of support for me. I know that she wouldn't
have made it this long if I didn't follow your advice and the advice
of great minds like Ralph Moss. My life will never be the same and my
distrust for doctors is only rivaled by lawyers and insurance people
and politicians.

God bless all of you and I pray you all have the strength to make
good decisions.

Sincerely,
Marty Deering
