Hi everyone

My lip problem seems to be reversing since starting treatment to correct my bowel imbalance. When I say reversing I mean the skin takes much longer to peel and instead of mostly peeling on its own I have to rip it off but now I find the skin resisting and wanting to stay on. Also the bits that peel have become paper thin instead of thick and crusty. The skin underneath looks much much healthier rather than red and raw. I believe if I stay on my current treatment and diet that it time it will fully reverse. I am now not in a hurry to get better anymore but feel this needs to be done gradually.

The two people that said they would do the stool test, have you guys done it yet or have you changed your mind? I am dying to know whether other people have imbalances in their bowel.

The post that artic monkey did was really good (finally some support for the lip problem being related to the digestive system). He mentioned Chinese medicine supporting the theory. Also I have found the Ayurvedic medicine (antient Indian form of medicine thats also been around for thousands or years) says the lip problem is a symptom of imbalance. There is an Ayurvedic website called http://www.mindxpansion.com that allows you to take a questionaire type thing to find out if you have an imbalance in your system. One of the questions is 'Do you have dry rough lips?'. (OK so they didn't say 'peeling lips' but think about it if the skin becomes dry it will of course have to peel off, I mean the bit that has dried does not rehydrate itself). So it is interesting that Ayurvedic medicine already recognises dry lips as a symptom of imbalance.

Please if you think you problem might be bowel related (which by the way took me years to realise that I had bowel problems as I never used to take much notice of what was going on with my digestive system) I suggest strongly you do the stool test that I did. I would recommend finding a Natropath first and doing the test through them. I can't stand the thought of people paying so much money to skin specialists when the problem is with their bowel.
