I have benefitted a lot from adding 500-1000mg of calcium, and from reducing my vitamin C and citric acid both from food and supplements. Vitamin C suppresses zinc and can interfere with calcium absorption creating an acidic state that causes inflammation. If my calcium gets too low, or my vitamin C gets too high, it can even cause my little capillaries in my eyes to get redder. When I add calcium, it helps to bring it all down.

Be sure to remember your companion minerals for zinc(copper) and calcium(magnesium). You may not need copper unless you are using high dose zinc for several weeks, but magnesium is very helpful for calcium utilization by the tissues so I would add a good form of magnesium with or shortly after you add calcium. One tip, magnesium bis-glycinate is one form that is less likely to cause diarrhea.
