I think what you have is different from what I'm talking about. It's not simply dryness, and in fact the lips don't even necessarily feel dry or sensitive - they just peel, even when I keep them moist with shea butter. I'm certain my peeling lips were caused by my incessant biting of them, which is a nervous habit of mine similar to nail-biting that I have had since childhood. The only parts of my lips affected are the parts I'm able to reach with my teeth. I just caused permanent damage to them.
