I have very dry lips. I run a chronic low grade temp due to ??? lupus activity. This is what I have found out:
It is imperative that you drink adequate fluids, half your weight in ounces daily of pure water.
It is important to do bowel cleansing.
It is important for you to do liver cleansing.
Dry, cracking lips is a symptom of weak liver activity. Read up on diet, cleansing and bowel maintenance on the links above.
I only use shea butter, coconut butter and natural oils on my lips. Do not use anything OTC that has stuff in it you can't pronounce. Do not use anything with petroleum products, mineral oil and the such.
I found a place on ebay that has pure, unrefined, low odor (but not odor free) shea butter. It is a natural as it comes. It has helped my lips more than anything. Here is a link to that sellers ebay site.
