Dear C,
I tried several times to click on the link
you provided, but in vain. Each time, my
WebTV produced a sign which said, "Navigational Problems."
Vitamin C, in the forms of sodium ascorbate
or ascorbic acid, will not form kidney stones,
UNLESS "the vitamin C is given in combination
with calcium carbonate and an additional source of oxalate (sodium oxalate." Those
words come from Dr. Thomas Levy's book,
Vitamin C, Infectious Diseases, & Toxins.
Dr. Levy goes on to add that "many patients
who develop kidney stones after taking vitamin
C, are taking calcium ascorbate, calcium supplements, or both."
So the bottom line is avoid vitamin C in the
form of calcium ascorbate. I suggest sodium
ascorbate crystals.
Dr. Robert Cathcart worked with thousands of
patients, and routinely gave them enormous
intravenous doses of vitamin C in the form of
sodium ascorbate. None of his patients developed kidney stones. Cancer patients in
Australia have been given as much as 500,000
mg of vitamin C PER DAY, intravenously, without any negative side effects. If large
doses of vitamin C caused kidney stones,
then my kidneys ought to be solid stone.
They're not. My kidneys work perfectly.
So if that was your question, I hope this
answer helps you.
Blessings,
Owen
