Can someone please explain in layman's terms what cavitation means. I have had jaw and ear pain for some time and am now suffering severe neuralgic headaches. I am going to see a holistic dentist soon but trying to get all the information I can beforehand. I have a lot of Amalgam fillings even having some of these fillings replaced with yet more amalgam. I have had few extractions resulting in one bridge and have crowns (even a metal one over a back molar!) - Time to get all this sorted out but need to know and understand the correct way to go about everything to ensure I have the best result possible. I also live in the UK and am not sure if safe and correct procedures are in place in the area I live.

Any advice most welcome
