For the best price/performance ratio I take calcium ascorbate. It is only a little bit more expensive then ascorbic acid, and is easy on your stomach, and is well absorbed. I wouldn't spend money on ester-c, or anything fancy like that. I used it a for a while and didn't really notice any significant difference.
