Well, this is somewhat of a mysterious situation for you to diagnose.

5mg is such a small dose, I'm not even sure how (or why) one would go to the trouble of measuring out such a small dose to take.... ?

How long have you been a regular C user? How long since this pain in the neck first started?

You could try stopping all C intake for a day or three to see if the pain goes away. If it does, time to find a better brand of C. If it does not, time to look at things other than C as the cause of the pain.

Also be aware that if you have a history of hearburn, GERD, and or hiatial hernia, adding ascorbic acid to this mix will make matters worse. I know since I have such a history, and before I found a brand of C more compatible, I had neck pains, stomach pains, abdomen pains, pains in my side, pains every where. This was many years ago, since then I've found forms of C (to include calcium ascorbate) that do not aggravate these other problems.
