I did my first flush last week with sodium ascorbate from wholesale nutrition. When I got the 'runs' at 38 grams, I also felt very shakey and bad. It was unsettling to say the least. I haven't taken another megadose of C since then, but I'd like to!
I'm 43 yo mom. I've been nursing babies for 5 yrs and am now weaning the last. I suspect I have AF, though perhaps its the stress of raising a 4yo ADHD boy. I did a hair metals test recently that came back with very low phosphorus and sodium. I'm told that this could indicate a heavy metals problem, or maybe my phosphorus really is very low. Would this explain my C flush reaction?
Is there an electrolyte balance problem with ingesting 38 grams of sodium ascorbate?
The sodium ascorbate I used was unbuffered - could that be why I reacted poorly?
Also, once I got the runs and felt so strange, I stopped the flush. I definately had diahreah at that point, but I didn't push beyond that. Several days after the flush I began feeling shakey again and I still feel it. Thoughts on that?
Please respond!
