Yes - I had Whooping Cough a few years ago and was taking HUGE amounts of vitamin C orally which didn't help a great deal. (Up to 180 grammes dayly some days, though it was inconsistant too because I was too sick to get to the shops.) I was sick for 3 months all up. (I got sick at a pretty unhealthy time in my life though...) Apparently if I'd have taken doses every 15 minutes it would have been more effective, but I've heard that intraveniously is the most effective way to do it.
