Hello, I was just wondering what could possibly cause vomiting after Vitamin C intake? There have been two nights now where I was up all night vomiting. The only thing both nights have in common was I took Vitamin C (I dont usually take it) The first time I was going to try a Vitamin C flush with the powder. I had read to find your dosage you take vitamin C 1,000 mg every half hour until you get diarreah. I got up to 10,000 mg with no diarrea. I gave up after 10,000 mg because I didnt think it was a good idea to take more. That night my stomach started hurting and I threw up all night. So...I gave up on vitamin C for a while.

Later, I decided to try Vitamin C again, this time in pill form and less mg. I took 1,000 mg in morning, 1,000 mg in Afternoon, and then 1,000 in evening. All three times I took with meals. I felt ok all day. That night I started sneezing like crazy. I had to blow my nose over and over because I was getting so much mucus. Then I started throwing up again all night long. I still never got diarrea (which I have heard too much vitamin c can give you)
I very rarely ever throw up or take vitamin c. so I know this was the cause.
I now take 500 mg buffered Vitamin c 2-3X a day with no problem. Obviously buffered or lowered mg helps. My question is... does anyone know what would cause such a violent reaction to Vitamin C? Why did I never get diarrea? ( I never get diarrea...I have had it maybe 2x my whole life)
