All I can say is that I'm glad to be free of the outbreaks. For me, it was worth it. There is no real scarring to speak of (just one little pale spot), and the pain was only momentary. I guess some people have a higher tolerance for brief pain than they do for a persistent condition of nagging, recurring sores that hinder one's lifestyle.
