That is the problem with the current health system where people solely rely on another person to cure them - most people put their health on the hands of a supposedly competent person and assume that they we're educated to provide them with the answer - not only is the education part from most doctors totally messed up and biased with the big pharma hand, but these are people without emotional attachments to their customers like lab researchers to lab rats, and they could care less if in the long term, some of their actions come back to haunt the patient - hey after all they simply followed what they learned in med school.
Yes I am generalizing but taking charge of your health is taking your health back; research, use your best judgement and then rely on a specialist to do what you tell them to do if it comes down to that (emotional attachments are important if you seek advise otherwise the advise given is based on general population, not you as an individual).
