This sounds exactly like doublespeak (from the book by Orwelle, 1984). You say the opposite of what you mean. This dentist is evil. You should not go back to him. In a just world he should be thrown in jail for committing an assault upon you. In this world he will get a pat on the back from his collegues for continuing to use Mercury the most poisonous non radioactive element.

There are no safe mercury fillings. They all give off mercury vapor. Whats even worse is that in order to place a mercury filling they have to undercut your tooth which makes it weaker so it it eventually cracks requireing a crown and then maybe a root canal which creates poisons even worse than mercury.

Gold fillings that are palladium free are a very very good alternative. Diamond crowm and diamond lite are also recommended by others.

You can never trust this Quack of a Dentist.
