I have a persistent cold sore so I have been doing some reading about this. I would recommend doing some research online or asking your doctor about it, particularly because you aren't even sure if the blisters in your nose are herpes or not.

HSV1 (cold sore) most commonly infects the mouth but can also infect the genitals. HSV2 most commonly infects the genitals but can also infect the mouth. I have read that oral sex can transmit HSV1 to the genitals.

You describe blisters in your nose. I have read that the herpes virus can infect other areas besides the oral area and genitals. So that could be herpes as well, but again you would have to go to the doctor to see if it is the same condition.

Any website I have read about cold sores says "don't kiss anyone until the blisters have dried up" but then I read elsewhere that it is possible for the herpes virus to engage in "asymptomatic viral shedding" which means that you are contagious even when you don't have any blisters. However, I don't know how much MORE contagious you are with no blisters than when there is an open blister.
