Actually no - otherwise there wouldn't be such a lucrative market for drugs/creams etc.

Coconut oil works on both type 1 and type 2, and indeed every member of the herpes family of viruses, and indeed any lipid coated virus.

If you read some of the messages further down people with type 2 have confirmed that coconut oil/lauric acid/lauricidin are highly effective.
