Lysine or L-Lysine, an amino acid, is excellent for all viral attacks. Herpes, cold sores, shingles and chicken pox. It often comes in 500mg tablets. Take 2 then 2 more 12 hours later. Take at first sign of a tingle or pain, until episode diminishes. Lay off foods high in arginine such as peanuts, peanut butter, chocolate and cheese. If you suffer from any form of herpes on a regular basis you should avoid these foods until your immune system is stronger. Lysine can be purchased at a health food shop or sometimes a chemist. It is not too expensive for the benefit it brings.
