I might be worth her giving up ordinary tea and coffee, and switching to the following, which are all helpful in iron levels and hypertension:- nettle tea, dandelion coffee, and lemon balm - a healthfood shop should stock them. In addition, a supplement called spartone is easily digested, it's iron rich water in a sachet, you tip 1 - 2 a day into a glass of water. Vitamin c helps digest it, so could be mixed with orange juice.

Does your daughter eat a lot of cereals/bread etc.? That used to be my downfall, gluten can hinder iron digestion, as can low stomach acid. See also the post above on homeopathic iron - its got to be worth a try! I'm giving it a go, as even when I tried all the above - and more - it did nothing for my iron levels - but then I have Crohns, so I'm not a normal case!

I tend to have the opposite problem to hypertension, but I came across the following when browsing the other day. Hope this helps!
