Hi. When I was younger, my mother used to diet. I would get mixed messages. She would say 'eat up your dinner' but wouldn't have any herself, then she'd eat a whole box of chocolates. I make sure my kids see me eating, and enjoying healthy foods. I tell them I love them, and try to install a sense of self love. Of course, it wasn't always easy, and when they were younger I would still have bad days. Hopefully, they were too young to remember.

Can I ask how old you are? Would you like children one day? For me, that was the reason I had to get better. Looking back though, I wasn't as 'better' as I thought I was. Ok, I was eating, not throwing up, but still restricting. Having children takes a lot out of you. It saps your strength. I had three, very close together (and even breast fed them) which is probably why I have had trouble with my health since.

Meeting my husband helped too, I was able to talk things through without being critised.

Things get better. You have to WANT to get better. Finding other ways of doing things, simply slowing down, and relaxing, pampering yourself, will all help.

If you take one day at a time (to begin with), try to eat balanced meals, even if they are small at first. Try to listen to your appitite, and not suppress those emotions. At first, try only to eat those foods that you are happy to 'keep down'. After a while you can gradually increase the foods, to include those that are worrying to you, in small amounts if you like, starting with the least worrying first. This is what I did. Of course, you don't need to eat them every day.

Sometimes it is one step forward and two back, but don't get disheartened. It does get easier.

When I started eating like this, I actually lost weight, I suppose because I wasn't absorbing the foods I used to binge on. Although I too have always been slim. The amount I have to eat now to keep the weight on, is a lot greater than what I was trying to exist on before. Hope this helps in some way.

Good luck!
