Ever since I discovered the wonders of Bentonite and pascalite clay, I have been using it regularly as a mask on my face almost daily... and it has produced wonderful results. My combination skin which is very prone to clog pores and Acne has become stable. Pores are clearer and finer, skin smoother etc. I guess that is also partly because I have begun flushing every 2-3 weeks and I will be doing my 6th this tomorrow.

Over the last 10 days, since I came back from a vacation whereby I did not eat very healthyly, I noticed my skin becoming unstable. It has become slightly more oily and feels like it is about to break out. My pores are more clogged and I get little whitish bumps on my chin. So... I decided to do more clay masks. I did them on a daily basis alternating between pascalite and Bentonite like I did before except that I thought I should make them thicker so that it can draw out more toxins... Last night, I decided that maybe I should leave it on for the whole night. I felt some throbbing on my nose and cheek while the mask was on and when I woke up this morning, the clay was hard and it felt a little painful. After I washed the clay off, my cheeks are red!!! My nose slightly too!!! HELP! Did I damage my skin?? What should I do to nurse them back??? It has been some 3 hours now and the skin is still as red.

I read that one can leave the clay mixture on for the night but maybe only for a thin or light layer. I left a rather thick layer on my cheeks and nose as those were the more problematic areas. BTW for my chin, I for some reason decided to cover the thickest layer of clay on this area with some 'Glad' wrap and it came out ok. Not much redness. Also, one thing I noticed about the 2 clays... Upon rinsing a Bentonite mask, my face usually looks rather clam and white while the Pascalite tends to leave it looking slightly flushed. I have not tried French Green Clay and am wondering which clay is most suitable for combination skin. Hopefully someone can give me tips to nurse my red cheeks back to health and opinions on the clay too!
