If you are going to take goldenseal it is non-disriminant so along with it consider taking something to replace the flora and then upon conclusion take larger doses to ensure population. I would use variety of natural bacteria and flora producers, the kefir, probiotics, cultured veggies etc..

There are better products now than primal defense though I do not know which ones.
Introducing kefir upside down (rectally) works well as it coats more and regenerates quite rapidly before expelling
