I’m no expert, but I can understand about having a horrible professional experience and not wanting to change your current dentist who isn’t a mutilating beast, but not great either. But for your sake you may have to as others have recommended. However, if you are determined to stay with this dentist, then if I were you I would tell him how sick you got. And take the best information I could find about Amalgam removal precautions and “how to’s” print it out or copy it, give him the information, and discuss it with him.

If he takes you seriously and is willing to perform the procedures the ways that is recommended then GREAT!!! And you have helped educate him and in turn helped, not only you, but also his future patients. If not then maybe you should try hard to get a recommendation of a good dentist that does the correct precautions already.
