My son who is now 10 months has been experiencing bloody stools, lots of stinky gas, explosive BM's with mucous. (You can see my other posts about this further back) I've been trying to narrow it down to what caused it and as of now I am thinking it's because of an oversupply of breastmilk (foremilk/hindmilk imbalance) where too much lactose has caused an irritation. This is just me speculating, I don't know for sure if it's this but from what I've read on the subject it seems highly likely. Anyway, I'm wondering how I can help get his bowels healed since there is now irritation? He is exclusively breastfed. I took him off solids which he wasn't interested in anyway. My plan is to nurse him in a way that he will get the hindmilk and not so much foremilk but I don't know if this will be enough to allow the bowel to heal. Any suggestions?

Nicole
