Thanks for the replies. I have done plenty of reading. I'm digusted that the ADA could be knowingly poisoning so many people. I just read that 95% of people with MS and other neurological disorders have Amalgam fillings.
Still, I'm weary about holistic hype and scams. I understand that mercury vapor constantly comes off the fillings, but there is also mercury in the drinking water, toxins in the air I breath, and chemicals, carginigins, and persevitives in everything I consume.
The big thing I'm worried about is how much of a risk is it. Are we talking getting struck by lightning risk, or smoking cigarettes risk.
TK--- Smoking type risk.
One side says it's poisonous and tells me that many countries have/are trying to ban this compound, and the other says the holistics just want to rip my teeth apart and charge insane amounts of money for it. I read about holistic scams where they tell anyone who applies that they have mercury poisoning.
TK--- This is all up to you. Do enough research that you can make an educated decision as to what risk you are willing to take and what you may want to do about it. Hg is poisonous and yes there are a lot of people including doctors and dentist that are only out for $ and take advantage of people - another reason to do your own research.
I don't know. I have been feeling horrible ever since the 2nd appointment when I had my old Amalgam filling drilled out. He drilled the whole thing, grinded it away with little pieces flying everywhere like I said earlier.
TK--- Not good and this is very sloppy dental work. There are certain precautions that all dentists should follow one of which is a dam to help prevent the ingestion of Hg chips. These chips [may] get lodged in the intestinal tract and cause longer term problems.
Right not my biggest worry is that exposure from getting that drilled out. I'll need the one on the other side drilled also.. and I can't just not drill it otherwise that tooth will rot out.
TK--- Find a dentist that uses all the precautions that are necessary before doing more work or have this one use them. Also there are precautions you can take before, during and after removal to minimize the exposure and side effects. Plus things to make yourself feel better.
Anyways, I have felt sick and fatigued ever since the Amalgam removal.
If it's because of the huge amounts of ercury vapor I was exposed to during that appointment (sickness started after the appointment) will it go away?
TK--- Maybe or it could get worse.
My body will be able to get rid of it, right?
TK--- Possibly but not necessarily, depends on the individual how healthy they are and their tollerance for Hg. It is one of the worst poisons on earth.
Some of these websites that condemn amalgam are telling me that the way my dentist removed my amalgam filling had me breathing in vapors 1,000's of times higher than safe doses.
TK--- This is correct.
They tell stories of people who are fatigued their entire lives with headaches, depression, and sickness.
TK--- This is also true.
I have only experienced 2.5 days of this, but I don't know whether to believe the these scare tactics websites or not.
TK--- These are accurate facts and meant to get you to think about what you are doing or going to do.
Will I get better from the fatigue I had from the appointment?
TK--- Maybe, maybe not.
Can 2 amalgam filling removals really give me poisoning for life?
TK--- Yes.
I have been drinking lots of tea, taking asprin for the headaches, and pretty much just sleeping (thank god it's the weekend).. as I haven't had much energy. I don't have a pounding migrane or anything. No runny nose or cough, which is the only reason I don't think it's a normal cold or sickness. One side of my thinks the drilling caused this, but the other doesn't want to believe that I could be poisoned at my dentist's office. Worst case senario that I am feelign sick because of the mercury exposure when I got drilled, will it go away within a couple more days?
TK--- Just going into a dental office for a cleaning makes me sick because of the Hg vapors.
