Man, this is totally weird! I have never heard of anyone doing anything like this.......

Does he have a broom? I would suggest sweeping the salt. A vacuum cleaner? Vacuum the salt.

I would take his clothes, bedding, etc., outside and shake, shake, shake.

Then get a bucket and fill with water and wash everything down.

Lastly, please take that salt shaker away from him. (Ha)
