Thank you for sharing your story and testimony. I have been diagnosed with clinical Depression and prescribed antidepressants too. At first they are wonderful, you feel "normal". However, it did not take long for me to start feeling like a Zombie, the real me was inside somewhere, but I couldn't seem to get out, the drug was in control and had become my personality. My last MD told me I even smelled depressed and would be on antidepressants the rest of my life. He prescribed the last drug because I complained to him that the blood pressure medication he prescribed "for the rest of my life" was not working. My BP never got below 160/110, and I knew that was too high for the double dose of medication he had me taking.

Recently I found out my best friend has started antidepressants. She was having some family problems, a troubled teenager, husband lost his job, and a relative died. Another friend of hers gave her some of her antidepressants. "L" liked them so much she called her doctor and asked for a prescription. The doctor called it in for her without ever seeing or even talking to her. I could not believe this, but she is on a rather heavy dose of a SSRI and her personality has completely changed. It frightens me how easy it has become to get these drugs. I wouldn't put it past "L" to give those pills to her teenager to calm him down. When I was first prescribed Zoloft in 1995, I felt kind of embarrassed. Now I hear people openly comparing their antidepressants and anti stress drugs. It seems almost unfashionable not to be taking something.
