As we have shared on other forums, I believe your condition is far more complicated than what any one change in diet or cleanse can remedy (remember when you wanted to do a long fast?)
I agree that your most immediate problem is mineral depletion that has resulted in an electrolyte imbalance and dehydration. Your craving for Sea Salt may be your body crying out for a wide variety of minerals, not just sodium. Consuming vast amounts of sodium and only trace amounts of potassium, calcium and magnesium may have messed up your electrolyte balance.
Also, drinking water incorrectly can actually cause dehydration and mineral depletion. When you add this to your forced purging three times a day, I'm afraid you are dealing with some very serious issues. Try drinking no less than four ounces and more more than eight ounces of water every hour. Never chug a huge amount of water at one time. Instead of using salt with your water, try using fresh squeezed lemon juice. If you simply cannot afford fresh lemons, you can use the frozen lemon juice, try and avoid the bottled lemon juice though. Lemon juice will give you a more balanced array of minerals that are bio-available, plus it will gently alkalize your body. Please take this portion of my advice even if you ignore everything else I say.
Make sure you include some green vegetables, preferably leafy greens at least twice a day. Collards, kale, spinach, mustard and turnip greens are all nutrient dense with bio-available minerals and anti-oxidants. In your case I would really recommend a green drink. I understand your financial problems, after a three month medical leave I am broke too, but a good green food powder would be a wonderful investment for you. I know I sound like an advertisement for the product, but I love Green Max powder from Swanson Vitamins, best of all its fairly inexpensive. If you have two drinks a day, a jar will last you two weeks and cost about $12.00. I assure you, this drink has done more for me than anything else in the last few months. I have severe nerve damage in my lower back and legs. My doctor believes the key to healing the damage will lie in minerals and vitamin C, plus anti-inflammatory foods and anti-oxidants to help heal and prevent more scar tissue from forming. Send me an E-mail and I'll share my recipe for my green tonic drink, sometimes I even fast on it. After reading some of the other posts in this thread, I am thinking about adding a little slippery elm powder to the mix.
Next, I think you need to address your purging. I doubt if you can simply stop doing it. Daily forced purging is an emotional eating disorder usually identified with bulimia. I have not had time to review your whole story, but I seem to remember you suffered abuse as a child. I have a history of verbal, emotional, sexual and some physical abuse at the hands of both family members and strangers. It took me decades to accept this as a reason I chose, subconsciously, to hide in a mass of fat to try and shield myself from being hurt more. Only now am I able to deal with emotional eating issues. I suspect your eating habits, purging, and even dietary issues are emotional and related to abuse in the past and a fear of truly growing up and being responsible. Often victims of abuse tend to cling to their abusers, they often fulfill the prophecy of emotional abuse when they are constantly told they are no good or not good enough when they are children. You must be able to admit you are a victim of something you could not stop or control; then make the choice that you will not remain a victim. Fight to overcome the victimization inflicted upon you, chose to overcome the hurts and injuries whether physical or emotional. Learn to not just love yourself, but even more, accept yourself as you are right now. Until you can confront your negative emotions and deal with them, I doubt you can overcome your problems with health and digestion. If you do not want to, or cannot afford professional help, look at the books of Louise Hay. I especially recommend the book "You Can Change Your Life". This won't be easy or quick, but we can overcome. I say "we" because you are not alone in this battle, but you must be the one to chose and take action when it comes to your own health.
