That site is a vegan disinfo site that has been methodically and effectively debunked.

There is a good reason it finds its way on the front page of all vegan/raw google searches. (google is a globalist owned search enginge ;-) It is to the raw vegan world what quackwatch is to the alternative health world.

Anyway, I believe her situation is thought/emotional related, and all dietary attempts may fail until a deeper healing of consciousness is attained.
