TK--- I agree with the posters comments below it could be either or both which is why proper precautions and compatibility testing are very important. You could do several things, test for compatibility now to see if it is the new dental material causing problems. Do a DDI hair analysis to look at the Hg levels. Also start some chelation following the Cutler protocol with DMSA or DMPS.
If you wish help with the Cutler protocol there is a forum at http://health.groups.yahoo.com/group/frequent-dose-chelation/ that deals with just his protocol.
It is common after Amalgam removal for quite a few people, especially when no precautions are used to get much worse from the additional Hg exposure from removal.

"This is why it is do very very important to utilze a dentist that uses the Huggins protocol for removal and a comaptibility test for replacement. From what you are describing, you could very easily be having adverse reactions to BOTH the improperly removed mercury and the newly placed dental material. Please do not go back to this dentist and find a proper one with the right knowledge. In the meantime do everything possible to take the load off of your immune system.

Do not replace with gold or any other metal....you need a compatibility test"
