The norm for a person to feel their best and symptom free their Free T4 and Free T3 should be in the upper third of the range. Where were you within the range? Sometimes when a doc sees "within the range" they don't look any further . If your numbers were at the bottom of the range that could be why you are having hypo symptoms.

Did he run a thyroid antibodies test to rule out Hashimotos? That is where the immune system is attacking your thyroid. Another more comprehensive test is the Reverse T3, if that is elevated that means your thyroid is not functioning properly.
