I'm writing you because of your brown recluse site. I hope if I pass
information on to you, it may help someone else.

A week and a half ago I was bitten by a spider. Once on each inner upper
thigh, once on the left lower inner forearm. I did not realize it at the
time and I did not see the spider. I realized something got me when I got
out of bed that morning and had three severe bites. They kept getting
worse. And symptoms progressed, it became pretty clear they were necrotic
spider bites. In Northern Cal coming from Seattle, odds are a Brown Recluse
or a Hobo Spider. The nearest reliable medical facility was seventy miles
away. All I had was charcoal left over from a wood fire, so that is what I
packed the bites in. The red areas stopped enlarging at around 3 inches in
diameter. The bites held for a couple days. Then drift started. Rashes of
blisters moving up and down from the bite areas. I was pretty panicked. I
went to a store and picked up anything that spelled anti toxin -- activated
charcoal, msm, what have you -- and asked the guy behind the counter if he
knew of anything for spider bites. He said he didn't, but he had something
that worked on every other kind of bite and gave me a jar of stuff called
"Dr. Christopher's Black Ointment."

"Dr. Christopher's Black Ointment" contains olive oil, chaparral leaves,
comfrey root, red clover blossom, mullein leaves, plantain leaves, chickweed
herb, lobelia herb, golden seal root, marshmallow root, poke root, pine tar,
and mutton tallow. It smells awful. It is oily. And it is black. I did
not really care, I figured anything was worth a try. So I put it on.

Two hours later, the rashes were receding and the bite areas were losing
color.

A week and a half later what I have no longer looks like bites. It looks
like scar tissue and healing burns.

We're talking a week and a half after a bite, no more scabs, no wound, just
scar tissue. And they still itch like hell. But they sure appear to be
healing.

As far as I know, that is a record for necrotic bites.

I don't work for these people. I'd never heard of or seen this product
before that guy in the store handed me a bottle. I do not even know if it
will work this well on other people, or if it would work if used at a later
date than I used it, I was only about three days in when I got it. But it
saved me big time. I hope it can save someone else too.

in case anyone gets this far, the black ointment does contain comfrey.
