I dont think arteries stay clogged indefinitely if you are changing your eating habits and all . If you eat more raw fruits and veggies, raw nuts, good cold-pressed plant oils like sawflower, olive oil, etc. and avoiding dairy and meat-- then your arteries are going to have no choice but to eventually restore-- and the plaque will leave a bit at a time as far as I'm concerned.

My leg veins were always prominent--- my family has a tendency for varicose veins. A year ago , I had my first varicose vein sticking out of my leg- even though for years you could always see my veins in my legs- and i have alot of spider veins there.

I often had pain in my lower calves from pooling blood- because my veins arent the best.

With a complete overhaul of my diet- now eating raw veggies and fruits, nuts , nut butters, cold pressed olive oil or other healthy oils on really rugged whole grain breads like Hemp bread toasted, raw seeds, and salads with apple cidar vinegar, etc, etc.....

- and a few steamed veggies w My apetite is satisfied, I lost weight without trying, and my varicose vein is completly gone by itself. No surgery! No more leg pains- and my spider veins are disappearing.

Now- I read in medical encyclopedias that nothing gets rid of varicose veins except surgery-- and it is inevitable because it is hereditary. Well , yes, it runs in my family- but there is hope aside from surgery!

So i'd say the same for clogged arteries as well.

God Bless
