A very important concept to learn as much as possible about is the concept of "total load". This is an environmental medicine term which means that the body has a capacity to handle a certain amount of toxins/stressors before it signals to you that it has reached its reactive threshhold. This threshhold varies between different people depending on their level of health and other individual variances such as environment, history, genetic disposition, etc. Once this threshhold is reached and overtaken then symptoms occur. These symptoms can range in intensity and type also depending on bioindividuality. Depending on how they symptoms group together, mainstream medicine give them "diease" names. By learning how this concept works, you gain a very powerful insight into gaining control of your healing journey.
It literally gives you control and allows you to seek a holistic balance. This is a good health model to filter decisions thru to see if a particlar food, environmental factor, etc is having a postive or negative affect on your health. Very empowering.
Things that can affect total load are parasites/fungus, enivornmental factors such as toxins(pesticides, plastic, inks, solvents, etc), electromagentic pollution, nutrition, sleep cycles, emotional stress, etc.
I would suggest you read some of Sherry Rogers books to get a better understanding and thus the importance of this "total load" paradigm.
Detoxify or Die, Wellness Against All Odds, Tired or Toxic, and The E.I. Syndrome are a good starting place for newcommers to this paradigm.
So the more one can reduce this load, the more success they will have in their healing journey. Once you know how important the concept of toal load is, the next step is to know what things to be concerned with and then make adjustments in your diet, environmnet, work schedule, and mindset.
