Hi

I went to a hollistic biological dentist in Austin, referred by Dr Huggins, for mercury removal and cavitations in October 2004.

Day after surgery, when Dr tried to do adjustment, i had a very sharp pain at which she remarked " there is an angry nerve, it just needs some time to calm down". I came back to Houston. My pain continued growing, it was agonizing and would knock me down for days, even months.

Last month I went to another dentist in Houston, he suggested I goto a root canal specialist. I was confused, why should I ?
Before surgery, I didnt have any problem in that tooth and as the dentist said herself, " That was a shallow filling", not that she had to dig deep.

Anyway, last week I managed to drive back to Austin. I am sensing she knew all along where she went wrong, but she wouldnt say it out loud. I was sedated while they removed mercury amalgams, so I dont know what happened. Then the "angry nerve" comment, my sixth sense told me something wasn't right, but I was still a bit sedated and tired from all the work so I didnt argue.

When I went back, she had to numb my left side to do the adjustments and before doing any test, dentist said" she is very sensitive, I will have to numb her". How did she know I was very sensitive? other than that I complained, but she didnt use any tool to test the sensitivity level.

The took many x-rays and suspected there is an abscess, when I asked her to explain what she saw in x rays. She got quiet after few minutes and said she lost her train of thoughts, but that she didnt see any abscess, but there was a possibility.

She prescibed steroids ( Medrol) for 1 week. I came back and finished the dose yesterday. While on steroids my pain was substantially reduced, like 80%. I still couldnt chew from left side or I felt it in my jaw and skull. Yesterday morning was the last pill of the 6 day course, few hours later pain started coming back, even more strongly, numbness in left side of face and all over body, mausea, chills, pain and more.

She gave me another appointment for next thursday so her fellow dentist can take a look at it. I cant and donot want to wait that long, symptoms are alarming now. They donot perform root canal anyway and thats not something I am looking forward. Only solution I can think of as of now is extraction.

Please guide me. I want any and all suggestion, tell me what options do I have.

Regards

gup
