Hi fellow Kelli ;-)
I have heard similar stories from others who have done the Atkin's diet.

My suggestion is to stop focusing on your weight. My clients lose weight all the time by just adopting the sensible, balanced way of eating that I outline in my book -- which would be very helpful to you http://www.foodfitnessbyphone.com/products/index.html

Ultimately, weight is not about carbs vs. proteins vs. fats. Sounds to me like your body has gotten way out of balance with all this Atkin's stuff and fasting, etc. If you stop looking at your weight and focus instead on adopting an Eating-for-Health lifestyle, as I call it, your body will find it's natural weight in the process whether or not it initially gains a few pounds or not.

I don't know exactly what you are doing, but I am not a big fan of water fasting. It is too extreme for most people. It is something that, in my opinion, needs to be worked up to if done at all.

I know that in some forums on this website it is very popular. My concern with this is that many people go from eating the Atkin's diet or Standard American Diet and taking pharmaceutical drugs one day, for example, to doing a Master Cleanse (water and lemon juice fast) for the next 10 days.

Going from one extreme to the other like this, is the equivalent of going from never working out to stopping by the gym and bench pressing 500 lbs. -- just not a good idea!

Yes, cleansing is a great idea for you - I'm sure. But slow and steady wins the race on this front. My book outlines a basic elimination diet that is a moderate form of a cleanse and would be a great place for you to start.

And for a gentle, yet effective colon cleanse - try Colonix -- http://www.drnatura.com

Throw out your scale! I promise that your weight will take care of itself when you do what's right for your body.

There are also several articles on my website that you may also find helpful, including a very short one called: Finding Your Natural Weight. Go to:

Hope that helps - keep us posted!

Kelly
