Yes, thank you Northstar -- really important point.

Guess I forgot to mention in my original post that in addition to the "yeast" element, nutritional yeast is similar to autolyzed yeast extract which is a form of MSG -- people who are sensitive to MSG are also frequently sensitive to nutritional yeast, although the reaction may not be as dramatic.
