Hmmm, that's a really good question and a true answer is a little more complicated than you might think!

In our current terminology, yes, it would mean that it is not genetically modified. However, wheat has been significantly altered over the course of decades - before we even used the term GMO.

In a recent article in the Economist on wheat, they basically said that all this debate about genetically modifying wheat or not is irrelevant because it was genetically modified decades ago and is in fact, the first food to have been.

So, it gets kind of interesting.

Ultimately, the organic wheat would be a better choice, but for reasons I have explained before - see previous post on wheat:

it's just wise to stay away from it as much as possible, no matter what the form.
