hi pbuck -

not sure if you'll check back to get this.

i don't know anything about this particular Center, although i just went and looked thru their website a bit. the fact that they identify CBT as a "key element" of treatment is good. this is the only form of treatment that has been proven effective to cure or treat OCD. it should be CBT with ERP (Exposure-Response Prevention) therapy.

the fact that the director is a naturopath is interesting and could be helpful. many people with OCD take an SSRI (or other anti-depressant) to help alleviate the anxiety. for those who don't like the prescription medications, or who get no relief with them, there MAY BE alternative forms of supplemental/biochemical help. it's good if this Center is open to these other options, although they also list the use of an SSRI as fairly standard in treatment.

i have been through intensive CBT/ERP treatment. it helped. my experience was with a doctor who had worked for 10 years at another center - Rogers Memorial Hospital. you could check out their website to compare.

i advise caution with the EFT option. there is no scientific proof yet (conducted by those not already advocates of EFT) that it helps. my guess is that it may help some people with anxiety-type disorders because, at its core, it is actually doing a form of Exposure-Response Prevention therapy; meaning, that the effect comes not from the movements or touching of certain body areas, but from the mental exposure to what causes the fear or anxiety.

i would certainly be very cautious before PAYING someone to "do" EFT, as one of the premises of EFT is that it is free and can be learned by anyone.

good luck, pbuck!
