Have you read the book, 'Your Body's Many Cries for Water'? It addresses how dehydration affects asthma, as well as, how drinking Sea Salt and water can help improve, if not cure, asthma symptoms. This is discussed on the Water Cure forum, and you can see what the book looks like, and the author's name, so that you can pick it up if you desire. I have found this book to be very beneficial in my quest for health. Magnesium and potassium are critical in water balance in the cells, so of course, low water could really throw it all off.
